What's in my bag.

It annoys me to no end to carry stuff in my hand when I leave home, so its not easy to guess my hatred for chunky hand bags, wallets etc. If it were practical, I would leave home with just about nothing with me!
Obviously such things are not going to happen in real life, not having important IDs or something as simple as not having a chap stick when your lips get very dry in air-conditioned rooms or as vain as not being able to show off your new Chanel sunglasses just because you were too lazy to carry them around can be irksome :D
When I was in college I used to carry a back pack everywhere. Once, during an internship, my close friend pointed to my back pack and said “you should really get rid of those, I am sorry to say, but you can’t carry them everywhere. You should get a trendy purse for work!”

That's when I bought this bag from H&M (my favorite store ever!).

I felt that it looked very sporty , which went well with my personality . I have used it for three years now! The bag has only one compartment and is so deep that the only way I could manage to find something is to dig my hand deep inside and touch and feel the objects till I reach the one I require. I am quite sad that the rexin is peeling off and, alas, I might have to discard it.

I had to buy a new bag now!

This time my focus was more on the utility of the bag as something I could carry every day to work.
After checking out a lot of them I chose this rather boring looking bag, but with a lots of compartments to keep things organized.
I have the following things that I believe are important for me to carry around.

Starting from the left :

  • Wallet : This is a small Western Digital card holder kind of thing that I had got as a prize (along with a kick ass hard disk of course ) for answering a bollywood question in city 1016 . It is very useful and just the right size for me to carry around my cards and some money . Mostly on weekends i prefer taking just this wallet when i leave home.
  • Paracetamol : I am sure I wont ever use them, It is to give out to people who might want.
  • Hair tie
  • Mouth Wash : I am obsessed with oral hygiene.
  • Safety pin
  • Mint spray
  • Nokia to blackberry power converter : It is immensely useful ! I bought it for Rs.20 in Chennai . My phone battery had drained and I did not have a charger as it was an impromptu stay over at my relatives place. I went out in the night to buy a Blackberry charger but had no luck , one of these shops did have this small piece of chord which could be connected to the end of a Nokia charger so as to charge my phone!Awesomeness!! I also have a very small charger permanently at work.
  • Pen
  • Extra Pair of spectacles : I have gone for practical exams requiring measurements of very high precision without spectacles . I have lost a pair when the waves were too high that they took my spectacles away. To avoid such debacles I take an extra pair of spectacles!
  • Bobby pins
  • Hand Sanitizer : Before having road side paani puris. Come one , you cant compromise on hygiene right?
  • Hair fastner again : I keep losing so many so soon .
  • Chap stick : V.imp
  • Notepad : For those sudden brainwaves (it has a pen inside)
  • Sunblock : I really cant afford to get a tan in this era of fair & lovely.
  • Toothpaste
  • Mint
  • Perfume : Sample size , currently I am carrying a Jessica Mcclintock . In the next post I plan to write about my love for collecting perfumes and about the perfumes I have, where I will write more about this one.
  • Tooth brush : I like to brush.
  • Eye mask : I still dont know where I would use it.
  • Office ID
  • Ipod & Sennheisers : I must tell you how brilliantly these ear phones cancel out noise. It really helps me relax when I am traveling back home by drowning out the traffic.
  • Pendrive
  • Wrist watch : Yea I carry it around, thats because I don't like to wear watches mostly but this one is a special gift.
  • House keys : I got this beaded key chain with my name , on my way back to Bombay from Mahabaleshwar.
  • Car keys : My baby punto.
  • Scarf : Very important , to avoid the pollution.
  • Sunglasses
  • Missing : Phone . Of course my phone is missing in this list . Why? Because it got stolen day before yesterday. It was a blackberry Curve Javelin and I used to call it "Swathi's Curve" :P
So what's in you bag? Do let me know. Bfn.

and about why Swathi carries one extra pair of glasses, one more reason could be that I sat on one of them, and rendered her low on sight for a couple of days.. a backup, since, has been in place..
